4 citizens in Khuzestan province are detained by Intelligence Office agents
Human Rights in Iran- on Tuesday April 14th 2020, IRGC Intelligence Forces in Shadegan province detained Abbas Ka’abi, Mohammad Ka’abi and another citizen of their friend, and moved all of them to an unknown location. Also in the late hours of Thursday April 9th 2020, Intelligence Office agents had detained Obaid Khanafereh, aged 16, a citizen living in this county without any clear charge, and had transferred him to an unknown place. Up to this moment there is not any information about their situation.
According to the report of Human Rights in Iran- in the late hours on Monday April 13th 2020, Abbas Ka’abi, son of Majid, Hossein Ka’abi and one of their joint friends whose identity is unknown, all residing in Shadegan city around Khuzestan province, were detained by agents of IRGC Intelligence Office and were transferred to an unknown place. Also on Thursday April 9th 2020, Oday Khanafereh, aged 16, resident of Shadegan, around Khuzestan province, was detained by Intelligence Office Forces in this city and was taken to an unknown location.
Based on this report, Hossein Ka’abi and his cousin Abbas Ka’abi, along with a third person were arrested by IRGC Intelligence agents in Shadegan city, without explaining any reason and the charge of their arrest.
Despite the follow-up of family and relatives of these persons, up to now no information is available about the whereabouts and accusations of these persons.
In recent days, a wave of arrests has begun against the citizens of Shadegan Province and some other regions of Khuzestan province, and Security Forces transfer the detained citizens to unknown places.
The individuals arbitrary detainment and the lack of justification about their accusations at all time of detention and the inaccessibility of the accused to a lawyer are instances of violation of International Instrument of Human Rights, Article 9 Universal Declaration of Human Rights and also International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights, adopted on December 16th 1966.
