Yazd Province; The Baby Is Found Abandoned

Human Rights in Iran – Sunday, September 11, 2022 – A newborn baby was found in front of a semi-finished building in Yazd Province.

According to the report of Human Rights in Iran, citing Rokna News Agency, today, Sunday, September 11, 2022, Dr. Mahmoud Noori, deputy of treatment at Yazd University of Medical Sciences, announced the finding of a newborn baby in a semi-finished building in the city.

“A boy was abandoned three days ago in the basement of one of the buildings under construction near Sadoughi Hospital in Yazd. When construction workers come to work that morning, they notice a noise in the basement and encounter a baby lying on the ground.” the former deputy of treatment at Yazd University of Medical Sciences stated.

Mahmoud Nouri Shadkam, noting that the baby had been abandoned 6 to 8 hours before being found at thescene, added:”Construction workers immediately contacted the police and the baby was relocated to Shahid Sadoughi Hospital. The baby’s temperature was29 degrees. Immediately, appropriate treatment was started, and when I visited the baby today, he was doing well and artificial breastfeeding started for this baby.”

The number of babies abandoned in the streets of Iran is increasing while Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, claims the policy of increasing the population, despite the fact that economic problems, poverty and inflation have caused families to be unable to meet their basic needs.

Deprivation of citizens’ social security is expanding while Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights emphasizes the right of people to enjoy adequate social security in terms of food, housing, clothing and social support services. But in Iran, many citizens are systematically deprived of this right.

Also, in the proposed goals of the UNESCO 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs : Sustainable Development Goals), the right of all human beings to enjoy a healthy and standard living environment, appropriate to their dignity and human position, has been explicitly highlighted. But in Iran, after the approval of this document, due to the opposition of Ali Khamenei and his announcement with the sentence that “gentlemen signed a document without our permission”, he removed its implementation from the agenda for the development of the country and strongly opposed it.
