PROTESTS IN NOVEMBER- IMPRISONMENT, FLOGGING, MONETARY FINES AND ADDITIONAL PUNISHMENTS FOR 6 CITIZENS
Human Rights in Iran – On March 2020, branch 101 of 2nd Criminal Court in Shiraz, presided over judge Mahmoudi, issued a lawsuit against Mohammad Reza Heidari, Amir Bavari, Salar Fuji, Jabbar Fuji, Ali Akbar Nejad and Reza Akbar Nejad, 6 young citizens who were detained during the protesting rallies in November and then were sentenced to Imprisonment, flogging, monetary fine and some additional punishments such as giving public services in municipality.
According to the report of Human Rights in Iran, On March 2020, Mohammad Reza Heidari, Amir Bavari, Salar Fuji, Jabbar Fuji, Ali Akbar Nejad and Reza Akbar Nejad, 6 young citizens who were detained during the protesting rallies in November, trialed already in branch 101 of 2nd Criminal Court of Shiraz headed by judge Mohammad on the charges with disrupting the public order, destroying government properties and disobeying the orders of officers in the time of their duty, were sentenced totally to 500 lashes. Both Reza Akbari Nejad and Salar Fuji were condemned to pay a monetary fine of 500 thousand Tomans.
According to the report, these citizens were trialed by branch 101 of 2nd Criminal Court of Shiraz while since their detainment and during their trial they were even deprived of the right to have a defendant.
Regarding the lawsuit issued by branch 101 of 2nd Criminal Court in Shiraz, Mohammad Reza Heidari was sentenced to 400 hours of free services in district 10 of municipality in Shiraz on the charge of ” gathering and collusion “. As the judge in court declared the sentence was reduced to quarter due to Mohammad Reza Heidari’s not objection.
According to this issued lawsuit also Reza Akbar Nejad and Salar Fuji, 2 of young citizens arrested in November 2019, were sentenced to pay a monetary fine of 500 thousand Tomans on the charge of disrupting the public order and 80 lashes on the charge of drinking alcohol.
Amir Bavari, another culprit in this case was acquitted of his charge for destroying government properties and only because of disrupting the public order was sentenced to suspended Imprisonment.
In the filed lawsuit by branch 101 of 2nd Criminal Court of Shiraz, also Jabbar Fuji, the other culprit of the case, detained in the protests of November, was sentenced to 9 months in prison and 74 lashes on the charge of ” disrupting the public order”, in addition 80 lashes for the charge of drinking alcohol. The determined sentenc for this young is in pending for 2 years.
From the first day of beginning the protests in November of 2019, Human Rights in Iran released in its Telegram Channel many reports and short videos about the process and situation of protests and rallies in many cities of the country. These protesting rallies occurred on Friday November 15th 2019, as an objection following the sudden increase in gasoline price and the sequential inflation and expensiveness of goods and services. During these gatherings and demonstrations many of citizens in Iran cities were killed, injured and then many numbers were detained.
Moreover, Human Rights in Iran has released 6 different reports during the time of beginning this phase of protestations and rallies that has informed in details the names of the killed in these protests. The important point to be mentioned is that regarding the lack of clarity in Inforation communication inside Iran, likewise the mass suppression of Freedom of Speech, internet disconnection and the dominant security condition, certainly the real number of victims in this phase of protesting rallies is beyond what is said.
Also considering the UN confirmation in the course of these protesting rallies more than 300 of citizens in different cities of Iran were killed by direct shootings of Security Guards. Besides, many other reports of the big number of the wounded individuals in the cities and different regions of country, cause by Security and Military Forces were affirmed by Amnesty International (Organization)
