Security Guards detain an Instagram activist living in Zahedan

Human Rights in Iran – On Wednesday, April 15th 2020, The Iranian Cyber Police (FATA) Forces in Sistan and Baluchistan province, detained an Instagram activist and transferred the detainee to an unknown place. The detention of this citizen is because of activities in cyberspace.

According to an account by Human Rights in Iran, quoted from Rokna, on Wednesday, April 15th 2020, an Instagram activist residing in Zahedan city around Sistan and Baluchistan province, was detained by the Iranian Cyber Police (FATA) Forces in this province, on the charge of blasphemy (insulting the religious sanctities) and was transferred to an unknown location.

According to the claim of Colonel Hassan Kikha, head of FATA Police in Sistan and Baluchistan province: ” Someone had created an Instagram page that was publishing news in the line of anti-regime dissidents and was insulting the religious sanctities and Imams, who was arrested after being identified by FATA Police. “

The suppression of publication agencies and media activists is a violation mentioned in Article 19 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as well and in Article 19 International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights adopted on December 16th 1966 that emphasizes on individuals rights to express their thoughts and ideas regardless of boundary limitations.
