The transferring of Soheil Arabi to IRGC (Surallah) detention, under the pretext of being sent to the hospital

Human Rights in Iran – On Tuesday April 24th 2020, Soheil Arabi, the political prisoner, imprisoned in brigade 5 of Greater Tehran Prison was transferred by the officers of IRGC ( Surallah ) base to one of detentions of this Security Organization, in the area of Niayesh Highway in Tehran, under the pretext of being sent to hospital, and was interrogated. In this week it is the second time that this politcal prisoner is transferred from Greater Tehran Prison to IRGC’s ward 1-A in Tehran’s Afsariyeh area.

According to the report of Human Rights in Iran- Soheil Arabi, the political prisoner, incarcerated in brigade 5 of Greater Tehran Prison, on Sunday April 12th 2020, on 11th day of his hunger strike, was transferred by officers of IRGC ( Surallah ) base to one of detentions of this Security Organization in Tehran, under the pretext of being sent to hospital, and after being injected some sedatives, he was transferred to the secret detention of this Security Organization in the area of Niayesh Highway in Tehran and had been under interrogation and threatening for 24 hours by the Interrogators of IRGC ( Surallah ) base. Yesterday, Soheil Arabi was taken back to Greater Tehran Prison, but today he has been transferred again to detention 1-A of this Security Organization in Tehran’s Afsariyeh area.

A credible source while talking to Human Rights Watch in Iran, said: ” While Soheil Arabi was on his 28th day of protesting hunger strike for the purpose of the access of prisoners to the right of treatment and other rights such as the grant of leave or the approval of the request for trial in order to his release on parole, Ali Chahar Mahali, the head of Greater Tehran Prison, notified Soheil of being dispatched to hospital, however this politcal prisoner was delivered to the officers of IRGC ( Surallah ) base.”

This well-informed credible added: ” Soheil Arabi with blindfold on his eyes and handcuffs was taken into one of the secret detentions of IRGC’S Intelligence in area of Tehran’s Niayesh Highway for interrogation and being threatened, because of releasing his last letters and news on Human Rights Medias that are Activists working outside of Iran. The Interrogators threatened this politcal prisoner because of releasing his news about the hunger strike, deprivation of treatment and a fair trial on Medias.

This informed source also added: ” Without any previous notice, Soheil Arabi today again was transferred to IRGC’s 1-A detention in the area of Tehran’s Afsariyeh, under the pretext of being sent to hospital and regarding the announcement by the officers of IRGC ( Surallah) base, he will be interrogated for 21 days. During the interrogation there is the probability of torturing him or filing case against him.

The issue of arbitrary detainment of persons without the justification of their charges, and the culprits’ inaccessibility to a lawyer is a case of violations of Principles noted in International Instrument of Human Rights, Article 9 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and Article 9 of International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights adopted on December 16th 1966.

Ebrahim Raeesi, the head of Judiciary, on Sunday November 3rd 2019, with his presence at the meeting of Human Rights Supreme Council in Islamic Republic of Iran which was held in attendance of Ali Shamkhani and Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ezhei, two of senior members in the Judiciary and in the Supreme National Security Counci of IRI, mentioned that the Islamic Republic of Iran under the title of a government that is structurally rooted in accordance with Human Rights Principles.
