Conviction of Amir Babaae, The Journalist, to serve in prison

Human Rights in Iran – On Wednesday April 8th 2020, the Court of Appeals in Kermanshah province, issued a lawsuit that following it Amir Babaee, journalist, editor of Gharb (Thé West) Weekly, former active member of Bistoon and Avaye Kermanshah (Voice of Kermanshah) Newspapers, was convicted to prison sentence. This Journalist initially was sentenced to pay monetary fine.

Human Rights in Iran reported on Wednesday April 8th 2020, Amir Babaee, the Journalist and editor of Gharb (Thé West) Weekly, following a complaint from the governor of Kermanshah, was sentenced by the Court of Appeals in Kermanshah province to serve a 2-month conviction in prison. This journalist previously had been fined 10 million Tomans by Revolutionary Court of Kermanshah.

Formerly the governor and the directors of Kermanshah governorship had lodged a complaint against this Journalist, it didn’t lead to his conviction.

Babaee has a history of activities in ” Bistoon ” and ” Avaye Kermanshah ” Newspapers, also the editorship of ” Gharb ” (The West) Weekly, in his resume of media activists.
