Summoning 6 labor activists to Sanandaj security agencies

Human Rights in Iran – Friday, September 2, 2022, Six labor activists were interrogated after being summoned by phone to the Intelligence Department and Security Police Office in Sanandaj.

According to the report of Human Rights in Iran, yesterday, Thursday, September 1 (2022), Ghaleb Hosseini, Khaled Hosseini, Mozaffar Salehnia, Namagh Babakhani, Zahed Moradian, and Khabat Dehdaar, labor activists living in Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan Province, were interrogated after being summoned by telephone to the city’s Intelligence Department.

The interrogations conducted on these labor activists have been based on their participation in the funeral of labor activist Khalil Ahmadi, according to the report.

It should be noted that after the funeral of Khalil Ahmadi, a labor activist from Sanandaj, the city’s Intelligence Department and Security Police summoned and interrogated many of the attendees.

Considering Khabat Dehdaar and Zahed Moradian, the total number of people summoned and interrogated by phone to Sanandaj Intelligence Department has reached 7.

Earlier, Ghaleb Hosseini, Khaled Hosseini, Mozaffar Salehnia, and Namagh Babakhani were summoned and interrogated by telephone to the Security Police.

Ribvar Abdollahi, a labor activist from Sanandaj, was also summoned and interrogated by the city’s Intelligence Department on Thursday.

The exclusion of individuals from freedom of expression violates Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, adopted on 16 December 1966, in which the right of individuals to freely disseminate opinions, political and ideological views is emphasized.
