Human Rights in Iran – Today, on Monday, June 15th 2020, Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb, a civil activist was summoned to branch 4 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Shahriar to serve his prison sentence.

According to Human Rights in Iran, today, Monday, June 15th 2020, branch 4 of the Shahriar Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office after summoning Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb, a civil activist living in this city, arrested him for serving a prison sentence. This civil activist was summoned and arrested while he was unaware of the judicial proceedings of the case and the type of sentence he was to serve.

In an interview with the reporter of Human Rights in Iran, an informed source said: “Today, at around 12 noon on Monday, the branch of the Enforcement of Judgements notified the family of Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb that after referring to the mentioned branch this city activist was arrested and his family was asked to go to the Shahriar Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office to pick up the car of the civil activist. After their referring, the civil activist was seen wearing a handcuff, being transferred to Evin Prison to serve his prison sentence.”

By receiving a message on June 13th (2020), this civil activist was summoned to branch 4 of the Shahriar Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office to serve his prison sentence.

On June 7th, this civil activist residing in Shahriar, after attending branch 1 of the Tehran Security Prosecutor’s Office was acquitted of the charge of “Photographing prohibited areas “. Also on 30th May, this civil activist living in Shahriar, received a summons in a new case on charge of “Photographing prohibited areas” by Ali Qanatkar, the investigator at branch 1 of the Tehran Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office “Moghaddas Court”. He was summoned to present his defense at the interrogation session.

The category of the reasons for the arrest of civil activists in Iran is among the allegations related to the suppression of freedom of expression and opinion, which is explicitly stated in International Human Rights Instruments, including Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) adopted on December 16 1966 that emphasize the rights of the individuals to deserve it. However, since the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran cannot tolerate the criticism of the citizens, it only pretends to respect the principle of freedom of speech and writing, but in fact it systematically suppresses the citizens in the field of freedom of speech and writing.

Also the individuals have the right to access a fair trial by an impartial tribunal, as enshrined in International Human Rights Instruments, as well as Article 10 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and Article 14 of International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).

Also All Khamenei, Islamic Republic leader, in his talks has acclaimed for times that NO citizen in Iran is being prosecuted for their criticism, however the compulsory and ruthlessly suppression and the expanse of security condition and atmosphere is Iran unveils the obvious fact and accentuates the point that the governmental rulers in Iran are the big staff of sophistry, casuistry and arbitrary interpretation.
